These letters are meant to get you off the ground. Where you go from there is entirely up to you!
There are two sample letters laid out for you below.
Our first free sample letter is a mock letter from a pastor at the Universal Church based in Albuquerque, NM.
Sample Special Project Fundraising Letter
Dear [Church Member’s Name],
Greetings! We sincerely hope this letter finds you well and that you’ve had a relaxing, blessed holiday season. Because you’re an important part of our family, we thought you would like to know what we are planning for this new year.
As you may know, our church family is growing. Just like any growing family, the more members you have, the more room you need. We’re pleased to invite you to be an important part of the process.
This Sunday afternoon, the Universal Church of Albuquerque is hosting a special event to help fundraise for the brand new atrium. How blessed are we that we have so many members like you that we need to build an entirely new structure?
It’s our greatest hope that you’ll be able to join us Sunday the 10th from 12:30 pm [right after the 11 am service] until 4 pm for a family fun carnival! Snacks and drinks will be provided by the women’s ministry. The only thing you need to bring is your sense of adventure!
Admission is free, but of course, willing donations are always accepted.
If you have any questions about the event or the atrium, please feel free to reach out to our special projects coordinator, Jennifer Thomas at (555) 010-1011 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
As always, have a blessed day. We hope to see you Sunday!
The second free sample letter comes to you courtesy of another pastor from a non-denominational church in New Mexico.
Sample Church Letter of Welcome
Dear [Church Visitor’s Name]
Welcome! I am just so glad that you chose to worship with us this past Sunday. However God led you to us, we are so thankful that you decided to come in and stay a while.
I truly believe that God has called us to do amazing things through our ministry, and the proof is in new visitors like you. It’s our hope that our message on Sunday spoke to you in a profound way…and that our singing voices didn’t scare you away!
On a more serious note, we would love to invite you to join us again this Sunday. We have a really meaningful message that we’d like to share with you.
So take another chance and worship with us again this weekend. After our 11 am service, Assistant Pastor Smith and I will be grilling up some hamburgers and hotdogs–you won’t want to miss them, trust me!
Also, feel free to stop by anytime to have a personal chat with me. I’m more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the church or any other questions you happen to have.
If there’s anything you need, New Hope Non-Denominational is here with open hearts and helping hands.
Looking forward to praising Jesus with you this Sunday!
PS: I’ve included a New Hope Non-denominational Visitor Card. If you would be so kind as to give us some feedback, we would greatly appreciate it. We are always looking for better and more effective ways to meet people’s needs. Thank you!
As you can see, these letters are short, but they each get their points across.
