ABQ5k4Boston Exceeds Donation Goal

After the tragic Boston Marathon bombings of April 15th, @Pay sought to partner with groups and businesses in Albuquerque that wanted to help.

Brian Col贸n felt the call to do something too. Seeking to raise money for the Boston First Responders Fund, he set up ABQ5k4Boston and organized a 5K walk/run that took place on Sunday, April 28th. Using our @Pay Forward initiative, we volunteered to process donations and race registrations for the event, waiving all fees to ensure that every penny collected reached the intended parties.

ABQ5k4Boston met its goal to raise $47,000 in donations from the 47th state.

“New Mexicans came together to send a message of support to those injured in the Boston bombing,” said Col贸n. “As a result of @Pay鈥檚 generosity and incredible service, 100 percent of online contributions will go to those victims. @Pay is a shining example of what it means to be a good corporate citizen. We could not have done this without @Pay stepping up in a big way.”

Of the funds raised, $18,288 was collected by @Pay in 473 transactions from April 23 through May 15.

More than 1,000 generous New Mexicans contributed to ABQ5k4Boston’s effort and @Pay is happy to have had the opportunity to participate in process and processing.
